Our One-Fund Approach to Giving

We are focusing all of our generosity—tithes, offerings, and gifts—into one fund. This is a single fund that will provide the resources needed to grow our current ministries, bless our community, expand current campuses and launch new ones, and increase our role in church planting both here and around the world. If you have any questions, please contact us at giving@summitrdu.com.

Best Way to Give

Setting up an electronic bank transfer is the most effective way to maximize your giving. As you will see below, an electronic bank transfer is the cheapest method to process gifts for the Summit and maximizes the reach of your gift.

Debit

Visa/MasterCard/Discover

AMEX

For every $100 you give:

  • Electronic bank transfer costs us 0.20% in processing fees (total giving: $99.80).
  • Debit and credit card charges 1.91% of your total transaction (total giving: $98.09).
  • AMEX has an even higher rate and would net only $97.10.

As you can imagine, these fees add up when multiplied by greater amounts and over hundreds of gifts a month.

Other Ways to Give

You can mail your gift in cash or a check (made payable to The Summit Church) at any time. Please send it to the following address:

The Summit Church
Attn: Contributions
2335-114 Presidential Drive
Durham, NC 27703

Many banks offer their customers the ability to have funds automatically drafted from an account in order to be mailed to a recipient (such as a church) on a recurring basis. Please contact your personal bank if you wish to pursue this option to set up The Summit Church as a new payee.

Appreciated marketable securities such as stocks, mutual funds, or bonds are a great way to maximize your giving because you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of your securities if they have been held for at least one full year.

Benefits of Giving Online

There are several benefits to online giving for both you and The Summit Church:

Faithfully Honoring God

When you sign up to give online, you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. The Bible teaches that we are to honor God with the “first fruits” of our labor (Proverbs 3:9). By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your first fruits are faithfully given back to God (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).

Simplicity

You won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or send in an offering by mail when you’re on a trip.

Security

We utilize an encrypted secure website for our giving portal to ensure protection of your sensitive personal information and giving history.

Transparency

You have the ability to quickly see your online giving history directly through our giving portal instead of having to contact our finance department for a personalized report.

Online Giving Privacy Policies

Your information is held securely in our secure servers. Your information will remain private and will never be given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled contributions. You can schedule new contributions at any time and modify or cancel those contributions at any time prior to the date they are scheduled. If you have any problems or questions related to this, please contact us at giving@summitrdu.com.
